Horwich is a town located in the borough of Bolton, in the Greater Manchester area of the United Kingdom. It is situated at the foot of the West Pennine Moors, and has a population of around 20,000 people. Historically, Horwich was a small village, but it experienced significant growth during the Industrial Revolution when it became a centre for textile and paper production. Later, it became known for its railway engineering, as the Horwich Works of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway were located there.
